Bat Bot Boy – work in progress

Here are a few sample lines from a work in progress story called “Bat Bot Boy”.

Also included is a couple of concept designs by the incredibly talented art director Deane Taylor.

“……..

I have no chance to once again,
be normal at the age of ten.
Like other kids who spend their day,
with games and toys and blissful play.

For I can’t do the simplest things.
I’m stuck now with these stupid wings

What am I now, I’m half a boy.
I’m no ones son, some life size toy.

Have I become a kid gone wild.
Some freaky superhero child.
Who hides by day, comes out at night,
to help the weak, and fight for right

The start of a story… maybe?

I think this may be the beginning of a new rhyming story:

I want to fly I told my mum, I want to do bird things.
That’s fine she said, go out and fly, but first you need some wings.

I know it’s very short, but maybe there is something small there just trying to get out and be bigger…. maybe.

Another Super Hero Poem – The Procrastinator

What can I say… stuff just pops into my head.

STUPID HERO #2 – “THE PROCRASTINATOR”

Look…
I know that you’re in trouble and you need some help right now.
But I’m feeling kind of tired and I need to just just lie down.

Only for a minute, maybe two or maybe more.
I won’t be long I promise, then I’ll smash right through that door.

I’ll stop the bad guy in his tracks, he’ll never know what hit him.
And If he tries to run or fight, I’ll tear him limb from limb.

You see…
I need my rest to be my best and get into the zone.
Unless of course I fall asleep…. And then you’re on your own.

I don’t know why I do it – Rhyme

Me – On Writing
I don’t know why I do it, ‘cause its harder than it looks.
Just write it down and get it done, that’s what they say in books.
Don’t edit what you’ve written yet, you have to let it flow.
But…
I’ll try procrastination first, the one thing that I know.

Yet again, while working on a piece of short fiction, something completely different, and completely unnecessary pops into my head. Is it an attempt at using writing to procrastinate from writing.
However, is it procrastination, if it is still writing… maybe not the writing that was intended, but words did get written.

Maybe this whole post is just me procrastinating. Welcome to my world.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you like the new site
